At long last, the summer is here along with all of its glorious heat. Well, I say it’s glorious but any woman who has experienced the struggle to dress both cute and modestly in sweltering temperatures and overwhelming humidity may vehemently disagree. As much I love summer, I know that struggle is all too real. As a child it is fairly easy to make friends, right? We just share a toy or snack, or even just jump right in playing with someone new. Maybe those friendships don’t last, maybe they do. But kids don’t worry about saying something awkward, or appearing too eager to make friends, do they?

Alright, so I don’t know about you but I despise modern swimsuits! (I’m most likely being super over dramatic, but that is just me.) I think they’re horribly immodest and personally, I think they’re quite uncomfortable. Not only are they uncomfortable, but they really leave nothing to the imagination and they can easily come off…something we do not want happening.
One of the ways that we set the tone in the home is through our attitude. The Bible says
It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. -Proverbs 21:19
It also says:
A continual dripping on a rainy day and a quarrelsome wife are alike. -Proverbs 27:15
Can you remember when you first gave your heart to Christ? It was a shout of triumph within your soul and you had within you a newness never before experienced? There was a victory over your past, of the things in your life that were not good for your flesh, your soul or your spirit. Defeating the flesh was imminent!
Did you know that the average American woman owns around 27 pairs of shoes? Yep, you heard me right, 27. While the average American man owns about 12. Who in the world needs that many shoes?! I sure don’t, and I’m pretty sure you don’t either! (source)

Living in America in this day in age is still an age where it’s important to be keeping up (or beating) the Jones’ family when it comes to climbing the social ladder. Whether it’s the size of your car or house, the number of children you have, or a number of things you have in your craft room; there’s always something that apparently needs to be upgraded in our lives, but the thing is, does it really?
This life can be overwhelming. We can be overwhelmed by situations in our personal lives, anxieties about the world we live in, or even worries about our futures. Sometimes things in this life work out exactly the way we plan, but sometimes our plans completely fall apart.
